PuraTron
HOW IT WORKS

The PurAtron generates
negative ions and activated oxygen (ozone).
This procedure helps clean the air
indoors like nature cleans the air outdoors. This “natural” concept proves much
more effective as many air units on the market utilize filters which have
proven to be inefficient. After all, there is no filter in the sky so we looked
to nature for a solution.
Negative ions have shown
to force dust and other particles to fall out of the air.
Nature is constantly creating negative
ions to clear the air. Some examples are waterfalls, waves crashing on the
beach and changes in the weather. Most indoor particles that are airborne tend
to be positively charged. Negative ions will give some of the particles a
negative charge. The positive and negative particles then combine with each
other, become heavy and fall to the ground. They will not rise into the air
again and become much easier to remove from your environment.
Activated Oxygen breaks
down odors and other pollutants at their source.
Nature has many ways to produce activated
oxygen. Many times we associate the smell after a thunderstorm as being clean
and fresh. That’s the smell of ozone, or activated oxygen at work. Normal
oxygen is converted to ozone which helps to break down odors and contaminates.
The PurAtron employs a separate ozone generator to help promote this
natural process. The user controls the desired ozone levels by adjusting
the knob located at the front of the system. Complete instructions and
guidelines are included in each owner’s manual.
Completely adaptable to
the user’s environment
There is no correct or
incorrect adjustment!
The PurAtron is an air purifier
capable of being adjusted to each individual environment, allowing the user to
have complete control over their indoor environment. The PurAtron is
user-friendly and most important, effective in helping the removal of dust and
odors. When unwelcome odors are present, simply adjust the “purify” button on
the unit. As the odors subside, adjust the “purify” button down according to
your individual preference. When you have an abundance of particulate, such as
cigarette smoke, you can utilize the “Anion” booster to help remove the haze.
The user is in complete control over their preferences and the unit is designed
to provide the user with their own environment strategy.
The PurAtron Indoor
Atmosphere System
Field Test and
Evaluation
PurAtron helps to purify the air in
your home, office, or commercial facility by reducing pollutants and
establishing a clean, crisp, and invigorating indoor environment. Depending on
the size of the environment you wish to treat, it may be necessary to have
multiple units.
Compare To Air Filters
PurAtron does not rely on the
potentially contaminated air that passes through typical filters in order to be
treated. This makes for an extremely efficient process and allows for a quiet
and treated environment. It’s difficult for air filters to treat the same
amount of square footage that the PurAtron seems capable of. Filters
leave a considerable amount of the indoor environment possibly contaminated and
untouched. Without the need to replace or clean a contaminated filter, we find
the PurAtron to be consistent with the principals found in nature and
you can save money by eliminating costly air filters.
Cigarette smoke
PurAtron has a great impact in
areas where heavy cigarette smoke may exist. The PurAtron G- 7 has the
ability to virtually decrease the chemical gasses from the actual cigarette and
the haze or “fog” of the smoke. In our findings the PurAtron seemed to
eliminate the stale cigarette odors typically left in clothes after exposure to
heavy smoke in commercial environments. This would be greatly appreciated by
non-smokers.
Pet Odors
Stale and offensive odors within a veterinary
clinic were greatly reduced. Also found was a decrease in the heavy amount of
particulate in the air that was visible through rays of light prior to using
the PURATRON overnight. We believe that with the use of low levels of
ozone, the PURATRON should also cut down on the spread of bacteria and
viruses.
Technical Information
This system utilizes 3 different methods:
Ozone…This first process utilizes electricity to split Oxygen (02
molecules) into single Oxygen atoms that attach loosely to other Oxygen (02
molecules) to become Ozone (03…activated oxygen). This loosely attached oxygen
atom is unstable and seeks out chemical compounds and other pollutants and
oxidizes them on contact. Ions…Ionization helps to remove the
particulate such as dust, pet dander, and other “items” that transfer through
the air space by joining the particles together due to the polarized charge
applied to each dust particle. The particles become heavy and settle from the
air space to a surface. Wind…The third process is a subtle breeze
generated by the
dual roller bearing fan used to circulate
the ozone and ions throughout the environment. By plugging into a 110 or 220
outlet, you are electronically hoping to reproduce the same effective cleansing
agents that nature uses to purify the air…Wind, Ions, and Ozone. PurAtron runs
very quietly with an energy consumption of only 30 watts.
Lifespan
The PURATRON is made of stainless
steel internal components that make it difficult for corrosion…even in damp
environments. The exterior is solid hard wood housing. Because of the quality
material and superior craftsmanship we believe the PURATRON will last
for many years.
Installation and use
Installation is simple. Each system
weighs approximately 16 pounds and can be located in areas where your concerns
are most severe. It’s best to place the system 5 to 6 feet in the air and
pointed toward a return vent, if so equipped. The unit is free-standing and
portable enough to be taken along on trips. There is a ceramic ozone plate that
slides in easily from the back. After the ceramic plate is installed you’re
ready to plug in the system and adjust your settings by the 2 dials located at
the front of the unit. You will initially notice the scent of ozone as you turn
up the knob, located to your left. You can adjust that scent specifically for
you environment. It’s not necessary to have the ozone adjusted at high levels
unless there is an emergency odor situation. When an emergency happens you can
adjust the ozone higher…once odor subsides, adjust back to your preferred
setting. Most people prefer a subtle amount of ozone that generates a “fresh”
scent. Start your setting low and adjust up, as needed. The other control knob
located to your right is for adjusting your ion and fan output. Ions are needed
to help remove dust and particulate from your air space. Look through a beam of
light after a few days to see how little dust or particulate is floating
through the air. The dust particles seem to join together and become heavier;
therefore, dropping from our breathing space and staying on the floor or
tables…available to be removed by normal cleaning procedures.
Maintenance
Maintenance is simple and requires little
effort. When you no longer can smell the “freshness” that you have become used
to, it is necessary to clean the ceramic ozone plate located at the back of the
system. This will depend on the severity of your air. For cleaning the ceramic
ozone plate, simply turn the unit off and unplug it. From the back of the unit,
firmly grasp and pull the plate out. Support the plate in hand or on a firm
surface. Using a scrub brush and either a grease-cutting detergent or ammonia,
scrub metal wires on plate until clean. Rinse in warm water and dry completely.
Re-install the plate in the direction of the arrows located on the plate. We do
recommend purchasing an extra ozone plate.
About Ozone
Ozone is created electrically during
active thunderstorms and nitrogen oxides and ultraviolet rays from the sun. The
electrical discharge creates a sweet smell that many consider “fresh air”.
Ozone has proven to offer many benefits and has also been associated with
controversy within the science community. We believe ozone to be an excellent
tool to treat indoor environments as long as it is controlled and used in
moderation, easily accomplished with PurAtron.
NOTE: We exposed an
environment to the severe odor of cat urine and adjusted the Ozone on the
PuraTron to its maximum levels. We found it unnecessary to leave the
unit at that high setting due to the dissipation of the urine smell at much
lower levels. Our theory is that Ozone at these lower settings is quite safe,
and there is no need to use extreme levels of Ozone to satisfy your indoor air
needs. With the PURATRON it’s very simple to control the amounts of
Ozone by adjusting the knob to suit the amount of pollutants in an environment.
Many pollutants in an indoor environment have been proven to be of far greater
risk than Ozone. We compare these simple, common sense examples: Hammer…Can
be used for building a beautiful home or destroying a beautiful glass case; Water…We
must have it to survive but we can also drown in it; Automobile…Used
daily for transportation; however, the number of deaths and mishaps are
unequaled; Ozone…Nature uses ozone to help breakdown contaminants in our
outdoor air space but can potentially cause irritation and headaches when the
levels are extreme in an enclosed environment. We believe the treatment of
indoor air needs the benefits of natural, outdoor air due to our tight and polluted
indoor environment’s inability to transfer these components inside, where we
spend 90% of our time.
To our knowledge, there have been no
deaths or diseases caused by exposure to ozone. Our research has revealed:
Ozone is commonly used in hospitals throughout Europe. Penn State University
and other U.S. universities confirm the basic principle of using ozone as an
effective controller of pathogens in extensive Aero-biological Research. Ozone
is used to treat water that is used for spraying vegetables and fruits in the
United States. Ozone has proven to be a great tool for cleaning up the indoor
environment. Ozone can easily be detected at high levels; Ozone seems to warn
us by its extremely strong scent and possible irritations of the eyes and
mucous membranes long before it would reach harmful levels. We know of no one
who chooses to use that extreme amount of Ozone to treat homes, offices, or
commercial establishments.
